Coming to hospital
As the time of delivery looms larger, you are both excited and apprehensive. You cannot wait to welcome you new bundle of joy, at the same time, you hope, pray that all will go well and that you will have all that you need by your side when the baby finally arrives. So, here’s a packing guide for moms to be sure that nothing goes missing at the last minute.
WHEN SHOULD YOU REPORT TO THE HOSPITAL
- Your membranes rupture (water breaks) whether you are having contractions or not. You may feel either a trickle or a large gash of fluid.
- Onset of labour pains, your contractions are occurring at regular intervals.
- Vaginal discharge (watery/blood).
- Markedly reduced foetal movement.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE EXPECTANT MOTHER
Please pack your bags one month in advance and keep it in your car. We would be providing hospital gowns for the mum , and hospital baby clothes for immediate use after delivery which needs to be returned back although we would also be providing baby gift hamper for you to take it home which contains baby essentials. We encourage you to bring the below mentioned items so that you are more comfortable.
FOR MUM
- 3 front open loose nighties / loose track pants shirts
- Sanitary pads
- Disposable panties
- Feeding bras
- Socks & slippers
- Clothing for Mom
- Bring your regular medications(if any) such as Inhalers.
- Diabetic medication, etc
- Still Camera/Video camera
FOR YOUR BABY
- 2 Baby towels
- 3 Cotton Baby wraps / Blanket
- 6 Baby dress/Jablas/Bodysuits/Sleepsuits
- Baby nail scissors
- Mittens, socks, cap
- 2 Sweaters
Note: The clothes that you buy for your baby should be new born size not 0-3 months |
